OG Videoblogger – Anti
Every once in a while, I think about a guy in Southern California named Anti, who created one of the most entertaining videoblogs I had seen at the time. The “time” being about 2 years ago when there weren’t too many of us doing this stuff.
Communication. That’s what he was doing. If you go through his archives, you will see him around his house (smoking weed), on the job (smoking weed), and driving around town (smoking weed). Collectively though, you also learn about his estranged relationship with his father (divorced; unaccepting of Anti’s lifestyle) and the sorts of friends Anti has. Really great stuff. Really Human Stuff.

What have I learned from this? That we can never go home again. That the small, community-driven, selflessness that used to be Videoblogging will never be captured again. Sure, I keep meeting new people who inspire me, but we have turned so obnoxiously business-orientated that I don’t see many Wide Eyes. I just see Beady Eyes.
I miss the Group Hugs.
I miss you already, and you haven’t even left the room.

I remember anti, I watched him all of the time, and I never understood why.
He was raw, and super into it. Smoking weed was his job, and posting signs somewhere.

yes! this was one of the first videoblogs i ever saw. i went to freevlog, then jay, then i read his post and went to anti. well then rocketboom. i need a bong hit.

wow, i am so super flattered that anyone remembers the videos i made.
just to set the record straight, i remember those “good ole days” too where videoblogging was a much smaller community, and often think of the Shlomo’s the Jay Dedman’s and ryanne’s ect.
